The Palladium System is being built with an internal wireless capability. In addition, the unit will contain on-board GPS so that the unit can collect time and location information automatically. When a test is run, the unit can report test results, time and location to a secure server. All data will be encrypted. The users will be able to access their data in real time. The data will be presented graphically as an overlay on a geospatial mapping program similar to Google Earth. This will allow the user to rapidly identify outbreaks and patterns of disease spread, allowing for improved disease management.
