Core Technology

All of INT's products are based on a patented technology for chemically synthesizing complex electronic circuits and devices. Using DNA as a substrate, conductors, semiconductors, plastics and other materials can be attached to specific locations on a DNA strand to form wires, transistors, diodes and other electronic components. This process can be carried out with a high degree of precision with respect to device size and placement. The technology also allows for the incorporation of other biological materials.

The characteristics of DNA make it an ideal framework for nano-scale assemblies and structures. DNA is:

At the heart of INT's core technology is the proven, patented process of metallizing DNA. Because DNA is not by itself electrically conductive, this procedure deposits a shroud of conductive metal around the double-helix structure of the DNA. Variations on this process will enable the creation of a wide range of nano-scale components and assemblies.
