Future Products

INT's core technology offers product potential far beyond the BioDetect platform. We have identified a long list of additional development opportunities, several of which have patents pending. Some of these opportunities include :

Flat Panel Displays can also be created using nano-scale electronic components created through an INT patented process, which joins DNA with semiconductors. INT's technology can create a two-dimensional matrix of Red, Green and Blue nano-LEDs producing a display with extremely high resolution while consuming very little power.

High Resolution Imaging Arrays will be developed using nano-scale electronic components created through an INT patented process, which joins DNA with semiconductors. Nano-CCD (charge-coupled devices) when assembled in an array will produce imaging resolutions thousands of times greater than current technology.

Taggants - Using the technology from the BioDetect platform, INT intends to develop a system that will allow manufacturers of products and components to add undetectable, highly-specific DNA taggants as part of the manufacturing process. Once embedded, these taggants could be read at any time in the future to trace origin, lot or batch numbers or to verify authenticity. Testing will only require a modified BioDetect analyzer and the cooperation of the manufacturer who placed the taggant.

RFID "tags" are poised to replace barcodes as the dominant passive identification technology. Using INT's patented, DNA based, nano-scale electronic components, RFID tags smaller than 1 micron can be created. These tags will be highly-effective yet small enough to be totally undetectable and unobtrusive.

Catalysts - Using INT's patented DNA metallization process, we can create nano-scale coatings for the surface of catalysts. By attaching metallized DNA 'spikes' to the surface of a flat surface, the effective surface area can be increased, providing substantially improved catalytic action in a smaller overall space and with a decreased volume of precious metal. This will improve everything from emission systems on cars to industrial scrubbers.

NanoSyringe™ is a site-specific drug delivery system, which will allow for delivery of therapeutic agents directly to specific cells within the body, such as tumors. It will drastically reduce adverse drug reactions, as drugs will only interact with the targeted cells and not with surrounding healthy tissue. NanoSyringe™ will be most applicable to the treatment of cancers, drug resistant infections, and gene therapy.
