BioDetect - Overview
The first product utilizing BioDetect technology will be a simple to operate, electronic-based, field-portable DNA identification system. The product has been built around a novel approach to DNA identification, which is proprietary to INT.
Rugged, portable and simple to use, this device will deliver fast, accurate, cost-effective, DNA based testing anytime, anywhere. BioDetect technology can determine if an organism is present in a solid, air or fluid sample through the electronic identification of the organism's DNA. Tests can be run for individual or multiple organisms simultaneously.
The BioDetect platform consists of an analyzer and single-use disposable test cartridges. This two-component approach provides maximum configuration flexibility, while keeping the system inexpensive to operate.
The capabilities and form factors of the analyzer will vary according to market application. The technology is simple to use and requires no special training. Once a sample is introduced (either manually or via an automated collection system) the device takes over.
